âI donât have many colleagues, but I actually see that as a strength,â Krystle laughs. âThere simply arenât many women in brewing, which perhaps makes Viven even more unique. Iâm passionate about the craft and develop everythingâfrom recipe to test batchâright here in our brewery in Damme. It truly makes me happy when a new beer comes out of our kettles tasting and smelling exactly as I imagined it.â
The couple divides the tasks perfectly. âI learned years ago to stop trying to interfere with the brewing process,â Tony grins. âSo I focus on sales and transport. The great thing about our brewery is that the storage area is right next to the brewing kettles. While Iâm moving the beers around, Iâm lucky enough to watch my wife at work. That certainly makes the hard labour a bit lighter,â he adds with a wink.
